Workplace Collaboration: Green Your Teams!

StrateGems Workplace Collaboration seminars train workgroups in advanced communication techniques for creating and maintaining collaboration agreements and improving collective intelligence. Understanding how differing beliefs and assumptions affect communication and thwart teamwork helps workgroups focus on the big picture, share information more effectively, and more easily achieve their goals. In our interactions with coworkers and customers, each person’s viewpoint is unique and is a valuable asset for seeing the big picture.

Collaboration can even improve personal health by reducing negative stress in the workplace. Participants in this one-day program discover new techniques for operating with emotional intelligence in the workplace and increasing personal longevity. These five modules, which are a subset of Leadership Strategems, are the foundation for this program:

                

Module 1  Diverse Personalities

Objective: Understanding why a focus on personality issues is a dead-end approach to solving communication problems. Embracing the diversity of opinions and viewpoints provides all the information needed to adapt and evolve to changing conditions.

Benefits: Trying to control the behavior of humans is a futile exercise. Engaging the diversity of viewpoints and direct outcomes based upon shared vision, goals, and objectives will always find ways to solve problems and find the best outcome in any situation or project.

Module 2  Direct Communication

Objective: Learning how to make, keep, and amend agreements and maintain organizational integrity through improved communication tools.

Benefits: Everyone navigates life with assumptions, which is why we have so many communication issues. Agreements-based work requires more time on the front end but produces less waste and fewer mistakes during the process and, thus, produces results that are healthier for the bottom-line.

Module 3  Group Participation

Objective: Participants learn communication tools for guiding and participating in group discussions and conversations.

Benefits: Encouraging everyone to participate guarantees no rocks left unturned in your quest for the best solutions and most innovative ideas. In natural hierarchies, leaders are rewarded for facilitating dialogues that allow contrasting viewpoints and out-of-box thinking to be considered within the parameters of organizational goals, purposes, and objectives.

Module 4   Emotional Intelligence

Objective: Gain skills for increasing your emotional intelligence, which is the capability to see the big picture from an objective viewpoint and mitigate the stress response.

Benefits: Participants learn how to train their thoughts and guide group intentions toward achieving shared vision, purpose, goals, and objectives. The ability to shift a dramatic situation into one with a positive outcome is invaluable not only in business, but also in personal lives.

Module 5   Personal Mastery

Objective: Gain skills for reducing stress and choosing how you respond in emotionally charged situations.

Benefits: Participants learn relaxation, visualization, and meditation techniques for healthier brains and bodies. Choosing comedy over drama enables win-win outcomes in any situation.
